Joanne’s Home Birth - Posterior Position
In our cozy home, my partner and I dove into the wild adventure of bringing our baby into the world. Armed with Hypnobirthing wisdom from Michelle, I felt a deep calm, ready to face whatever twists labor had in store.
As labor kicked off, we danced through hours of starts and stops, and a nagging ache settled into my lower back. It wasn't until a bit into this rollercoaster that we started to wonder if our baby was doing that posterior thing that we’d heard about in Michelle’s classes. Channeling the Hypnobirthing magic, I clung to the deep breaths and affirmations, riding out the ups and downs. Utilising lots of forward- leaning inversions just in case he really was posterior.
In those early hours of labour, with the midwife still en route, my partner made a slightly uncertain call to Michelle (thankfully it was still a respectful time of 4pm). Her familiar voice down the phone brought a sense of calm, reminding us we had the tools to handle this unexpected home birth plot twist. She reminded us of some specific tips to help encourage Baby back into the optimal position for birthing before our midwife arrived to be with us.
As labor rolled on, the Hypnobirthing vibes stuck with us. Even as we discovered the baby's acrobatics after many hours, the cool we'd cultivated didn't evaporate. My partner, armed with Hypnobirthing hacks, became a superhero, easing the persistent ache in my lower back.
When the midwife arrived, she joined our chaotic dance seamlessly. She confirmed Baby was in fact posterior. With Hypnobirthing bravado, I embraced the whirlwind of labor, and together, we steered towards meeting our baby. Those affirmations and hypnosis tracks bounced around the room, turning our wild home birth into a powerful ride.
Our baby's grand entrance, unveiled after hours of labor, was a tribute to the grit we found through Hypnobirthing and the beautiful support of our midwives. Michelle's phone-call wisdom proved gold. This birth tale is a shout-out to staying cool, the power of teamwork, and the magic that Hypnobirthing can weave in the face of curveballs.
